PROGRAMING FLIGHT COMPUTER
Right click on the fight computer that you are going to use to bring up the
Radial menu. Click on #4 to ‘Initialize Flight-Computer Core Storage Unit
For Use’. A control device will be put in your data pad so make sure you have room.
Go into your data pad ( hotkey ‘K’ ). Click on the data tab. Right click on the flight computer that was installed to bring up the radial menu. Click on Program droid.
In the flight commands window you have 2 sides. Available commands and Loaded commands. The available commands are the commands that you are qualified for and any chips that you have in your inventory. If you have no programming chips in your inventory then the basic commands that you are qualified for will be listed. Those commands can be loaded and unloaded without loosing them. Any chip that you load from your inventory is ONE TIME USE ONLY as of loading the chip into the flight computer or astromech. If you unload that command and you want that command back later. Then you need a new chip. When you are done programming your computer the way you want it, click on ‘COMMIT’. A window will pop up asking if you if that is what you want. Look it over, because once you click on ‘YES’, it will be programmed.
Programming the astromech is pretty close to the same way.
Each command chip has a ‘Droid Command Size’. You have a limited amount of space in your flight computer. V2 is 40, v3 is 70, v4 is 110, v5 is 125 and the v6 unknown because I do not have the cert for it yet. But I will look into it. You will not be told if you go over capicity so you will lose the inventory style chips once you press COMMIT. So make sure you have room. Each astromech is different also. I have an R4 and an R5 unit and both of them can only handle 70. I do not know how high they can go but I will look into that also.
I believe that the X-Wing style ship is the only one that can not use the flight computer. Astromech only. All others can.
Most popular styles of programming chips.
If you want extra speed with out the booster, ‘Engine Overload’.
Want more power out of your weapons capacitor, ‘ Weapon Capacitor Overcharge’.
Instant power to your shields, ‘Capacitor to Shield Shunt’. (most commonly used with ‘Weapons Capacitor Overcharge’)
Doing more damage with your weapons, ‘Weapons Overload’
Want more reactor power, ‘Reactor Overload’
The most popular level is 3 on these kind of chips.
Many different styles of chips to mix and match. From basic commands that the pilot is qualified for, to extra command chips that are one time program use only. Depending on your piloting style. Using a fight computer can add more fun, power and safety to keep you alive in the heat of battle.
